A reservation will expire 30 minutes after your scheduled departure time if the reservation is not started in the app. As a result, the assigned car is no longer connected to your reservation and will be made available for another reservation.
Before this happens, you will always get a notification from us in the app: the first notification is seen half an hour before the ride expires in the My Rides tab under 'Upcoming'. Then, fifteen minutes later, a notification will also appear in the Drive tab under your current reservation.
Note: you will not receive a push notification about this.
You have two ways to make sure that your reservation does not expire:
- Are you next to the car? Open the doors with the Amber app within 30 minutes of your scheduled departure time.
- Are you still making your way to the car? Start your reservation manually. This is possible from your planned departure time in the Amber app under 'My journeys'.
